I FEEL LIKE POETRY
southern girls..
when
southern girls
do what they do.
They do it southern
fried,
mashed potatas on the side
wit lots o' gravy.
Po' thangs is what they say
bout anythings they pity.
That's a shame.
Whad xactly is it they do?
Them southern girls.
Girls from the north may whisper
and eastern girls gaze
western girls take a turn,
but the southern girls makes it do.
They just do.
It anin't call southern cookin fo' nuthing.
What did you think I was talking about doing anyway.
only ABOUT when southern girls do the cooking.

I MET DANNY GLOVER
[A true poem]
It was a hot summer
Saturday morning.
Around nine was the time.
Stepping lively he came inside.
Looking down at me.
ME ..Looking up at him.
Made known his request.
No, I didn't flip my wig, that's cause
I didn't know who he was until
he had left my desk.
Later before he left, like the rest of the staff,
I took his photograph.

LIPS
Shades of colored girls lips
pink, red and maghonany.
Stopping eyes look at my lips.
Shades that match my outfits.
No kisses blows his way.
I give my kisses in the winds
of honey bliss.

MIISRAEL:
Sweet!
Your poem about Danny Glover reminded me of the moment I had a psychic interchange with actor Jesse L. Martin (Det. Ed Green from Law & Order).
They film L & O all over New YOrk, esepcially down in greenwich village near my church. The film crew was there one time with their trucks. I was alking on the street--and in the summer in New York the restaurants set up tables right on the sidewalks. I'm passing by and I see Jesse sitting at a table and eating with the crew. I could not help but stare--you know, the way you would look at an old friend. I felt like I knew the guy since he has been in my living room a hundred times.
He noticed I was staring at him because I recognized him. And he smiled at me. And I smiled back.
That was it.
But it shows you how even one moment of human contact with these movie stars can be uplifting!!!
As was yours with Danny Glover.
