While talking amongst some brothers and sisters the other day and observing how they were reacting towards one another when we came upon that which we disagreed upon...I had a sort of epiphany. I've noticed that some of them refused to accept that others had a differing opinion from them and seeked to force them into agreement to the point that it no longer was about the actual doctrine but a personal test of will power or ego or something.

It also appeared that they seemed to spend a helluva a lot more time on that which they disagreed on rather than that which they did agree. This seems to be the problem the world over.

When coming upon a disagreement over a particular religion or politic, instead of intelligently and rationally debating and ironing out differences and then respectfully allowing others to go in peace....too often people automatically go full throttle into an emotional tirade and become argumentative and even down right violent towards those who disagree with them over certain religious or political positions and refuse to let it go.

I asked some of them, why can't you just tell the brother or sister where you think he/she is wrong and after that if he refuses to accept it....just leave him alone and let God correct him as He sees fit so we can move on?

Most of them couldn't answer it....didn't even understand where I was going. They felt is was their divine duty to correct the other and straighten the other out. Whether we're talking about Christianity or Islam. The Mormons or those who claim to follow the teachings of Minister Farrakhan.....it seems that some people just want any excuse to oppose, attack, and fight. Especially people of color.

While Blacks, Indians, Arabs, and others may do it...I rarely see Whites (Christian or Jewish) fight or argue over religion. It's as if they between themselves believe it's a "front" or "joke" anyway so they don't even bother trying to convince eachother anymore.

Do any of you honestly believe that even if we were to find a particular religion or even narrow it down to a sect and force everyone to adhere to that sect of religions beliefs......that there would finally be peace and agreement? Hell no, they'd STILL find something to fight and disagree over.

It's as if they say, "It's not enough for you to be apart of my religion....no....now you have to believe in it EXACTLY the way I believe in it and practice it EXACTLY the way I practice it and then perhaps.....maybe...we will get along and there'll be no disagreements"

Thus the problem may be in the solution! Maybe the problem itself is that too many people argue and fight over what they think the "solution" is and THAT'S what's causing so many problems!

Perhaps the West has it right all along. Perhaps the best society is one where people are free to have and profess their own opinions no mattter how outlandish they may seem without the fear of others picking up a sword or gun and trying to harm or kill them for it.

But what if everyone left the next man alone to believe in whatever he wished? What do you think would happen to the world?

Back to answering my own questions, I see... (LOL)

My opinion: This is a psychological issue. You will notice Harry always asks "Am I right?" Now if he knows he's right, he doesn't need to ask this question. People argue so hard for their position because they need that positive reinforcement. To answer your question, what would happen to the world if we left the next man alone to believe whatever? Something good, am I right? (smile)

Wait till you find out that the name of Jesus has been changed or altered, then you really start to wonder if there is any truth coming out of mankind.

That one word "I" means only "I" AM THE EXPERT ON MY OWN SELF...but one of the hardest thing for that individual to be able to do is take full responsibility for ones own action THEREFORE MAKING NO USE OF THE "i"...there in lies things like if it does not go our way one can say, "It was God's will"..."my faith was not strong enough,ect.any thing / excuse to avoid bring ing about 'change' if it means working harder to make it happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
