VIDEO: CHRIS MATTHEWS FORGOT OBAMA WAS BLACK

If there's anything I have to say about this video, it's that ignorance is NOT bliss.

I don't see what Matthews did as a negative... I wish we could all forget that he's (President Obama is a Black man.

Let's not take Chris's comment out of context.

First--Chris Matthews has been a vocal supporter of equal opportunity and a strong critic of racisim. Just last week he hosted a special town hall meeting held at one of the HBCU's with a variety of prominent AFrican-American guests to moderate an honest, in-depth conversation about racial issues. I thought it was excellent. So--seriously--not for one second did he forget that a black man is actaully black.

I think what he meant was that the fact of his ethnicity just wasn't important enough to matter in that speech. So you forget--for the moment.

When I am with my two black (actually half black) grandhildlren, I don't think about their racial identity. I don't even notice it. In our interactions, it is just not important enough to matter. Of course, I KNOW they are two little black kids--how can I ever "forget" that? But in our moment by moment playing and talking and joking and fooling around and when they stay over or I put them to bed or when we go out to the circus or to the park--they are just Olivia and Chris and I love them.

I think what Chris Matthews means is that he was judging the President by the content of his character and not the color of his skin. And I think he likes the character of the President.

Jen, I some times wonder if you are not black and just_________I will wonder if you could understand your saying your name is Jen fed you describe your self as female (am I correct?)

When you finished your speech and Native-American male say, boy Jen Fed the female did that speech so good it made me forget she was a female named Jen Fed...HOw would you feel having all of you as you identitfy you have taken away from you because aNative-American liked your speech so well....IN other words Jen a person in your race can not do something this good...DUH

Rich would you be happy if I called you a male when you define you self as male...Why should our president who defines himself as Black or me have anyone believe they can change my chosen identity....The words our president spoke was no of a skin color...but, if Cris has never said this about any other president he sould have never said this about him...Now which presideint would he have said this to....or are we going back to they voted for his skin color....
