Dr. Phil reunited ex NBA player & Haitian native Olden Polynice w/ his father, who was trapped — but survived

On Wednesday's episode of "Dr. Phil," Dr. Phil (sorry, that was redundant) took viewers into the field hospitals and streets of Haiti through the eyes of "The Doctors." The four doctors, who are all practicing physicians, responded to the immediate and tremendous need in the quake-ravaged country.

Also on the show, Dr. Phil reunited former NBA player and Haitian native Olden Polynice with his father, who was trapped — but survived — the disaster. That's him creeping up from behind.

You can click the photo above to play the video, but be careful: The two haven't seen each other in over three years. So, unless your name is Paul Shirley, I'd recommend you grab a box of Kleenex.

Precious!

This shows how we are all connected. We can share in his joy, gratitide and relief.

Brother Rich,
That was a truly tear jerking reunion and we you're right on target with your comment. We should have compassion and empathy for others who are suffering in the world. Hey I especially love the statement Charles made regards not paying attention to where guys are from who play in the NBA and how it's a small world we live in... so true in Polynice's case. That's the good thing about professional sports--- people come from every part of the world.

All praises due to Allah for the reunion of our brother Olden and his father!

Jen:

Great point about the universal appeal of sports. Guys (and girls) who play together and struggle to find ways to win as a team, find that nothing matters LESS than ethnicity, family history, culture, religion, race--or anything else besides winning.
