Olym-Pen ---from a true Spoken Word Poet, Mommy Dearest

The pen is mightier than the sword
For the word pierces to the core
Never fails to even the score
Has called a truce, to many a cold war
Yes, the art of word play has destroyed
Dignitaries or Rap connoisseurs
Those unprepared, to wage all out war
Scripturally, the Lord deplores
The misuse, of what you call your
Power, in the pen
Translated into blatant sin
Falsehoods, written in, then spoken by men
Whose tongues are the pens, of skillful poets
His righteousness has made me a gifted opponent
When you finish reading this, I'm sure you will know it
For with a click, of my pen
The Holy Spirit, fills me right in
From the ink well of life
I emerge welding the Word of God and shield by Christ
Effortlessly, I slice em, to the bone and marrow
Thou, straight and narrow, as piercings go
It can be a painful, transplant
When the enemy, choices to rave and rant
Twist the word or slant, the truth
That soft words, turn away wrath
I'll cut and stitch you up so fast
Before you realize you just ate every last, word
I said, wrote across your forehead
In invisible ink, me and God are so insync
I don't have to think, for myself
The Mind of Christ, has an endless wealth, of knowledge
Enhanced by street sense and or college
Written in the blood of the Lamb
I am, just a utensil, pen or pencil
Using my tongue or vocal
Transcribed into the lyrical, form
I rip it, like the temple curtain was torn
straight down the middle, Child of the One and only God
The Great Pen Maker, I AM
Transformed into an Olympian
The day God put,
A tongue in my mouth and Mighty Pen in my hand

Percy ain't got nothing on me,
Mommy Dearest

Wow,Jen:

This is an amazing piece of poetry.
I AM TRANSFORMED INTO AN OLYMPIAN--
THE DAY GOD PUT A TONGUE IN MY MOUTH
AND MIGHTY PEN IN MY HAND.

That is something I want to share with my students!!!
