keep returning back to it to read and reread that reply comment to this post from Richard. I do this because his reply was a reply by way of Rich as White male of a Christian faith to me a Black female of the Buddhist faith that showed just how much alike we human being are dispite all of these socially and political labels used to so effectively and affectivelyto keep us away from PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TOWARDS MAN...

WE TALK ABOUT THIS ALL THE TIME AS IF IT RELATES TO EVERY ONE ELSE BUT TO OURSELVES...we use every excuse from slavery to war to color of skin ... from something like the name of a person we don't even know to a person we will turn out backs on if they have an accent, color of eyes or is poor, hell why should I even bother to list something that goes on into infinity when it comes to reasons to hate and want to distroy in the name of what ever name we call our maker...

THANK YOU RICH FOR THIS AT SUCH A TIME OF LACK OF J OBS , WARS and rumors of wars AND FEAR OF TOMORROW MAY BE NO BETTER, for a wake up call like that...

thanks again for allowing me to vent...(smile)

BEHOLD!

HOW GOOD AND HOW PLEASANT IT IS FOR BRETHREN TO DWELL TOGETHER IN UNITY.

PSALM 133.

Richard Kigel Monday, February 15th 2010 at 11:28AM

And I would like to point out that I was directed to this very Psalm (133) on this site in a post by Siebra of a talk by MInister Farrakhan, which opened this Christian's eyes to the possibility and hope that we can achieve a real sense of community among followers of different faiths.

This shows why it is so important and so badly needed for us to focus on the values and beliefs we share as human beings on this planet.

Respect our differences. Celebrate our unique ways. Show good will toward each other. But consider that we are always more alike than different.

I am grateful also for all those who offer their words of wisdom in conversations on this site that strengthen and inspire us in our common humanity.

And for always inspiring us to be better and for kicking us in the butt when we don't behave...you, Irma, are our QUEEN!!

Thanks, Rich. There is a quote that goes..." When we make three steps forward yet only end up taking two steps backwards, we have still made it one step ahead".

In short this endless struggle (it seems) for one person to bring about peace on earth must begin within each and every one of us. WE as an individul must take that first step on our own, because we are never alone...

Rich have you ever read that poem called FOOT STEPS? I remember seeing this poem for the first time in a story not long after my youngest daughter went into the Navy. I brought it and sent it to her. She is still in the Navy for these 18 years and she still has that poem.

FootSteps and If are my all time favorite poems.and, I must say that since being on this site I find it impossible to know which is my favorite for the poems on this site. LIFE IS SO GOOD.(smile)
