OBAMA VISITED BY GHOSTS OF PRESIDENTS PAST: SNL “Presidents” Return to “Advise” Current President

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA RETIRES FOR THE EVENING WITH FIRST LADY MICHELLE. “I’M JUST TIRED OF GETTING MY BUTT KICKED FROM BOTH SIDES,” HE SAYS. ONCE IN DREAMLAND, HE IS VISTED BY A CAST OF COMEDIANS REPRISING THEIR “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE” ROLES AS PRESIDENTIAL IMPERSONATORS.

In the bit, a clearly flummoxed (and still heavy-smoking) President Barack Obama retires for the evening with first lady Michelle (Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph), unable to leave the country's weighty financial matters behind. "I'm just tired of getting my butt kicked from both sides on this," Armisen's Faux-bama says.

Once in dreamland, he's visited by a cast of comedians reprising their "Saturday Night Live" roles as presidential impersonators: Will Ferrell as George W. Bush, Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton, Dana Carvey as George H.W. Bush, Dan Aykroyd as Jimmy Carter and Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford. They all urge Obama to make such legislation a reality. The video is directed by Ron Howard.

Jim Carrey is the lone non-"SNL" alum in the video, playing Ronald Reagan. Phil Hartman, the best-known Reagan impersonator on "SNL," was shot to death by his wife in a 1998 murder-suicide.

The comedians who played presidents on "Saturday Night Live" have gathered for a comedic summit in a new Web video on FunnyOrDie.com.

"All it's meant to do is capture the attention, present a question and stimulate some thought," Howard said in a phone interview.

It's believed to be the first time all the major presidential impersonators from "SNL" who are still alive were reunited for a sketch.

"It was a blast," said Howard. "There was a lot of experimentation, a lot of ad-libbing."
He added: "I actually felt like now I understand a little bit when you get to manage or coach an all-star game."

Hey Shorty:

The electrician was supposed to be Jimmy Carter. Back in the 70's, Dan Aykroyd played President Carter pretty well. But I think he's been out of show business for a generation and he got FAT--so his acting wasn't that good.

One of the funniest lines was after Carter came in to do the electrical work, making fun of his work building homes for Habitat for Humanity, Will Ferrell as GWBush says, "Let's go have some 'Malaise Potato Chips!" (Remember Carter's Malaise speech where he never actually used the word?"

Yeah, it was pretty funny. I like how MIchelle asks him if he was smoking in the bathroom and he says NO--and you see the room behind him is filled with smoke.

Then, at the end, he is desperate to find some nicorettes.

Cute!!

Rich, I could not believe my own eyes and ears when Bill O'Reilly showed this skit in its entire skit format on his program (in between as they now do promoting how they have the best ratings).lol

I gather since his and Beck's programs are now ( the position taht B. O. has had for years and years all alone)the highest rated on Fox cable news now they have resorted to showing Beck as a regular on The Factor to play 'good cop', 'bad cop' or teaparty-conservative game on their 'brainwashed' viewers. (smile)

But, only 'brainwashing' would have that giant ego of B.O. having him now promoting Beck's program asbeing his idea or that he does not want this person gone out of any and all places that our public media goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and "I' enjoy every moment these two are forced to play those stress creating minutes in public that I would not wish on my worst enemy. (smile)
