JEZEBEL A WICKED WOMAN: WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

Women History is also full of women who are full of evildoing and lawlessness. If you thought about them you probably could name a few. Bonnie of Bonnie and Clyde, Lizze Borden and a whole list of bad women sometimes called "Bad Girls". However, the bibical account has given name of one that even God did not down play. She was Jezebel. Bibical account writes that Jezebel was the daughter of Ethbaal a Zidonian and the wife of Ahab. Jezebel was idolatress who persecuted the prophets of God. She swore to kill God's prophet Elijah saying in the scriptures: " So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say; "May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of them." This message was referred to by Elijah's killing of her armies and prophets with the sword --bringing them down to Kishon Valley and having them slaugtered there. [2 Kings 18:38-40 and 2 Kings 19:2] "Jezebel" is also the name used to indicate an "evil or no good woman and a prosititute." Good and bad women are part of history as well. However, we see that they are remembered to remind us who's really in control. Women have a place, some good and some THROUGHLY BAD!
