Dr. Martin Luther King had a DREAM: Now Ministry of Nation of Islam has a DREAM: DREAMS CHEAPER THAN BUILDING

Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream that integration would play out in America. It was cheap to dream. Black Americans relied on his dream for what the future would be like. Blacks holding hands with whites. Now leadership in NOI is dreaming...now about a plane that will take us somewhere. Must Black people rely on dreams for life. Why can't blacks do as other peoples in building what they want, erecting what we want, constructing what is needed...that is what the white people do....when white people want to build a new shopping center on a vacant plot of land, they call in the general contractor, architects, engineer, technicians and legal staff to begin work. They exclude the dreamers.....Perhaps that is why America is the most powerful nation on earth....they build and construct while blacks are dreaming and performing magic.

To these dreamers...shall we get a wing of a bat; an eye of a gnut; the tail of a frog for the dream to work ? Seriously, we as Black Americans should expect more than dreams from our leader of tomorrow.....We should expect some action...the kind of action that is a result of doing for self. When the white man wants to send the stealth bomber into mission, he commands it and it comes and he sends.

What! ................the Black man thinks some one is going to rescue him....And the black man has two feet, two eyes, two hands, 1 brain and he wants something to fall from the sky and save him.......How do you say "bull****" in a professional way ?

Clark...thats true every thing you write but that only one side of the blog....This blog compares Dr. Martin Luther King claim of a Dream....to the Ministry of the Nation of Islam claim to a Dream. To appreciate the blog...must be aware of both dreams. You have just explained very well components to King's Dream. Long ago, leaders in Africa would speak to the villagers about their dream. This is an old African custom. My book, 21st Century Vision for Black America covers many of the customs of ancient tribes in Africa as the Mende, toma, Mgere, Yoruba and Basuku. African kings would use dreams as sources for wisdom to the people problems in food, disease and curses. Since then we realize that dreams do not replace work.

So the one dream of kings is matched by the dream of the ministry of Nation of Islam. Here a dream is used in place of a vehicle of salvation namely a large plane known as the Mother Ship. In Dr. Kings case, his dream was somewhat abstract as oppose to pointing to a particular thing....so if would be tough to refute him and call his dream a lie. In the case of the Nation of Islam....the dream is used in for concrete terms about a particular thing. As if a dream can replace the "build"...Coming from this African background and no knowing it....this superstitous background in our people is excited about a dream of something rather than engage in construction.....Yes, Clark...you know what building is all about as you mention and many black Americans, but here we are in 21st Century and giving so much to dreams......I have never used dreams as a "source" for my knowledge.

As-Salaam Alaikum Brother Jamal:

Good post but kep in mind around the same time the government approved to make MARTIN LUTHER KING a holiday, they came in with the cocaine and man made AIDS.

Do you remember the report of the former LAPD officer who admitted that the government was brining in crack to destroy black communities?

Clark, clues to direction....could a dream play an impact....OK that s possible. But in the case of NOI this is suppose to be a real physical air craft of large proportions which is part of this dream. My point is that the only people that purport dreams as something factual is black leaders from our African past. When has any American president use a dream as a point of contention. Or to pass a bill. Dreams do not seem to play a big part in European society. Like it does in Black and African society.
