Girl I don't think many of them will appreciate you for that if you do --- better give it to the ones who sit in the pews. Ha!

Its amazing how most of the African Americans pastors who claim they got a calling when in actuality they lost their job. Then figure the only way to make money is open the Bible and get building slapping a cross in the front. Then yell and shout, foaming at the mouth and telling worshippers to pray for those who despise you...turn the other cheek when they hit you with injustice and deceit...and wait to die to see the Lord...but in the mean time pass the basket.

Brother Jamal,

Please don't detour from the original purpose of this blog. This blog isn't a Pastor Bashing blog, but more of an informative blog. Besides I could say the same of Imans, but I have class so I won't.

FYI: It's called hoopin' not foaming at the mouth. Ha! Pastors that Hoop do so because they start to feel what they are preaching about and thus they put 'soul' in their sermons.

Have you heard any good hoopers lately? Even the women hoop better than the men now.

Sis. Jen.."iS YOUR PASTOR REALLY CALLED"

Thought sure, my response was to that question. And the answer is "no". Once when a special event required me to contact churches, I came across this real fine church. Went in and met with the Pastor....who said that he use to be a muslim minister. I asked him then why was he not ministering for Islam instead of Christianity. He told me that it was more more in ministering Christianity in America. It is big business.

Thanks for explaining about Hoopin.....was wondering about that. Will have to look for some hoopers the next time at church....It sounds pretty entertaining for a women to be hoopin but will have to see for myself.

Modern Christianity is the most fluid of all religions -- it'll find a way to go in a different direction when faced with obstacles. First thought that JC would return in their lifetime because he told them, ''many of YOU will not die until you see my return.'' Now they say YOU are the people of future generations. Wrong. Then it was 100 years. Then 1000. Then Y2K. Argued that the earth was flat because every eye was supposed to behold his glorious return. [Can't see on CNN that JC just showed up in Australia.] Women commanded to be silent in the church -- and now they are hoopin'.

Sounds like Christians just make this stuff up as they go. At least the other religions stay true to the original meanings.

Pastors, evangelists, whatever. It's just someone trying to sell a book and keep the interest level high.

Oh yes... Hoopin' is what it's called! Bro. Jamal look no further for female hoopers. See my blog, Women Preachers: Can I Get a Hoop Hoop! '

Jen....... SPLENDID... I assumed this blog would bring out the critics...

Cynthia Merrill Artis Saturday, May 8th 2010 at 1:39PM

But I enjoyed it just the same... It's amazing how I have encountered some beautiful ministers whom has allowed their light to shine... and I've seen their good deeds and also I have seen some who do not, perform the service .. good will.. of their congregation. I often talk to my family ministers and ask if( you are commisioned by God...) I look for them to show a higher standard...

In my best hoopin' voice
"Listen Brothers and Sisters the bible says Psalm 37:1
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

My Brothers and Sisters Jesus said in Luke 13:27
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Say YES!
