WHAT DO YOU WANNA BE WHEN YOU GET OLD?

WHAT DO YOU WANNA BE WHEN YOU GET OLD?

Yesterday is gone, but just yesterday I was talking with a 20-year old young man. He was full of energy and vigor especially since he was dancing and singing! He tried to get me to join him in dancing with music of Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind and Fire and the Commodores. However, I felt a bit worn. "I can't"... I said...I'm old." He refused to hear what I said, so he kept trying to get me out of my seat. "Not today...I'm a bit tired." So I began thinking..."What do I wanna be when I get old?" Do I wanna be in a rocking chair?, or laying in bed watching television for hours? Do I wanna sit on my porch and sigh?, or do I just want to rest?

I hadn't thought about it much before, but I don't really feel I'm growing old even though those little kick-up of aches reminds me I'm going somewhere with that. I really don't mind it much...growing old is beautiful. Less worry, less stress, and even less things to take care of. If I'm in "good mind" I think I wanna be that when I get old. To have a good mind --to know who people are that care for me...and good mind to thank God for my life. That rocking chair sounds good too!

According to Genesis, Methuselah was the oldest person in the bible who lived to be 969 years old. The second oldest person was Noah who lived to be 950 years old.

Those are great ages! I can't imagine living 950 to 969 years...I'll need some de-wrinkling cream! "Thanks dearest.. I love bibical accounts!"

MIISRAEL, as someone who will be 68 years young soon (and proud of it) here is some advice "I" believe is even better than "growing old gracefully"...

"TAKE YOUR ACTUAL AGE , REMOVE 30 YEARS OFF OF IT AND START ACTING LIKE YOU STILL HAVE THAT AGE'S ENERGY ". (S-M-I-L-E)

(or just startj growing a garden of vegetables and lots and lots of flowers. lol)

Right now I can't think of the name of the man in the Bible who lived to be a 1000, but I know even if I live to be this person (I beleive to be the longest living human) I will never regret being who I am and being proud of this. (smile)
