Read and share with your positive thinking friends...or even to those who need to think and speak in a more positive vein....

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people.

As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are... Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider this:
Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere...

With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

"A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses."

The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate - for the good and the bad.

Note:
Be not mistaken. This is applicable to family as well as friends. Yes...do love, appreciate and be thankful for your family, for they will always be your family no matter what. Just know that they are human first and though they are family to you, they may be a friend to someone else and will fit somewhere in the criteria above.

"In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us. In Adversity We Know Our friends."
"Never make someone a priority when you are only an option for them."
"If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters."

“Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.."..

Colin Powell

Excellent Greg: I love the entire post. I actually practice this statement from your post very often:

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people.

Loved that!

"This is applicable to family"

It's sad when you have to "leave" the family - they don't understand the changes and think you're going through a phase

I want all of us to win but all of us aren't ready to go

Pray for the enlightenment of Our People

BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE!!!

Harry Watley Thursday, June 10th 2010 at 10:13PM

Hello to All,

I personally do not believe that General Colin Powell is the author of this message. Nevertheless, if General Colin Powell was the author what he left out was an encouragement to be a sovereign people on the portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way. Had General Colin Powell encouraged sovereignty it would not be necessary for this message. The gist of the message recognizes hard times for all, but at the same time advising those who is susceptible to be mindful of those you associate with that could bring you down. Such advice is not good for all as the advice to become a sovereign people is an advice for all, if you will. I personally want all Black Americans to be sovereign, as Moses wanted all the children of Israel to desire the Exodus.

If General Colin Powell could have encouraged sovereignty for the most part we would be civilized, enough to cooperate with each other that would make our sovereignty successful, am I right.

I believe that Mr. Gregory Boulware is the author of this message since psychologically speaking he relishes in the praises that you all gave to the message as though he wrote it.

What about it?

Thank you Irma:

It was thought that harry was illiminated from my communications listing. While I respect his right to an opinion, I don't have to tolerate it...and I will not! This individual has brought negativity to many of our discussions...The message that Brother General Colin Powell was delivered to be mindful of his type of behavior.

Not to worry my Dear, I will not allow anyone to mislead the direction in which I choose to traverse! And Please...stay on point as I will do likewise.

By-the-by, I too don't give a Damn What Harry has stated!

"It's Not The Things You Know, It's The Things You Know That Just Ain't So!"

Thank you Sister Irma...The General's message is BEAUTIFUL!

Peace and Love to YOU ALL,

Greg.
