Has Prophetess Juanita Bynum Gone New Age in her Newly "Redefined" Bynum II ?

I don't know so I'll let you guys be the judge. I heard some very interesting information on her today and I thought you would also find it fascinating as to how people can be led astray unknowingly.

Disclaimer: This information isn't for the very religious so if you be the one(s) don't read this blog any further or listen to the posted utube clip entitled "Bynum Therapy".

You may listen to the featured video of her when she first was catapulted on the Pentecostal scene with her "No More Sheets" because this is the lady I remember.

I do know that Prophetess is much different from who she was back in the day than who she has become today-- the Redefining (I guest...sounds like what the Hollywood movie stars do when they Reinvent themselves).

Bynum Therapy III: Learn how Juanita Bynum's so-called "sacred" ceremony for her 50th birthday bash contained elements similar to "Destiny Dedication Rituals" performed by Dianic Wiccans.

... Very Revealing and makes you say hmmm...

People in these lofty religious positions do what they do -- regardless of how wrong or far-fetched -- b/c they fear NOT the wrath of god.

That's how preachers can live like rock stars, have gay s*x, molest children and who knows what else. They're in it for the show and the earthly rewards it brings them. Bynum is no different. I live a more moral life than any of the men of god I've known -- and I've known plenty.

Rev. Father Amos

[...b/c they fear NOT the wrath of god...]

I do agree with you on that point and its just discouraging to see people in the Prosperity Gospel lift themselves up like rockstars (flying in their personal jets, driving their bentleys, and wearing their Italian shoes) while the rest of us are barely getting by... All because they don't reverence God.

Cynthia Merrill Artis Thursday, June 17th 2010 at 8:41PM

Jen.... Um... I have always been leary of her... I read her book No More Sheets... although a good read... i just didn't feel her story... Listening to the clip... I still don't feel her story..... and what's up with the dress thing....

Siebra Muhammad Friday, June 18th 2010 at 11:16AM

Jessica I totaly agree. Sister Bynum is aiming for more versatility and global appeal. Being a sister from the NOI, I can respect that. I remember people were saying the same thing about how BeBe and Cece Winans songs were starting to sound too much like love songs. The key is appealing to both the younger and older audiences.

Sis. Bynum can still have her Pentecostal group, like I have my NOI group, religion is what you make it but if you want to appeal to all audiences you've got to be global.

Jen Fad Friday, June 18th 2010 at 12:35PM

@ Sister Cynthia,

I haven't been a follower of Prophetess Bynum from the onset, but one thing I can say im agreement with Sister Jessica and Sister Siebra is that she's different (alright). In disagreement with Sister Jessica on the point about sacred ceremony--- there is no such ordinence in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Do you mind me asking what your religion is or what spiritual path you're on? Would it be Wiccan?

Cynthia Merrill Artis Friday, June 18th 2010 at 1:01PM

Im glad we can agree to disagree.... @ Sis Jessica...in my defense... I never indicated in any manner to attack Sister Bynum... I said I am leary of her... This means I do not feel her talks... or teachings in my spiritual path towards growth. I dont' think Sista Jen has... she indicated (( don't know so I'll let you guys be the judge)).... In a matter of speakding it's not a woman bashing issue...

@ Jen, as a spiritualist.. I would class her more as a Teacher more so than a Prophetess... There are a lot of females in the ministry business Joyce Meyer's is my girl!! That lady can Teach!

Jen Fad Friday, June 18th 2010 at 4:58PM

@ Sister Cynthia

I know what you mean... I don't feel her talks either as she is not on the spiritual path that I can relate to. Ha! It seems like the more money some people come into that's when they start being eccentric and start Reinventing themselves because they can Now afford to do so.

I'm sorry, but just because you are rich or comfortable doesn't mean that you can go changing the rules of the game and expect the rest of us to follow you or not to point out how you be 'acting'.

Cynthia Merrill Artis Friday, June 18th 2010 at 5:02PM

Jen... Yep....
@Irma, I don't think there are many African/Black American Women with Mega Churches... But there are quite a few who have Large followers... I watch Bynum on the christian channel one night.. It's diverse... and she was "selling" her prayer shawl... collecting her love offerings... and promoting this shawl as a "miracle shawl" it heals what ails you.... I don't care who it is... To "brainwash" in this matter is not of the spirit.

Cynthia Merrill Artis Friday, June 18th 2010 at 5:04PM

Prophetess Shirley Ceaser.... She speaks the word... talks the talk.. and lives by it...

Jen Fad Friday, June 18th 2010 at 10:24PM

@ Sister Jessica,

I have no problem with Prophetess Bynum going New Age or anything else she wants to do, but I think she should at least llet her followers know that's she changing up from Christianity to the New Age movement or any other movement she decides to do. As I stated before, I've not her follower but I do try to keep abreast of what's going on in both the secular and religious world(s).

robert powell Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 9:53AM

The paganChristian church has had at its core the concept of homos*xual ritualization.

and our lady above and her throngs of Single, frustrated women is the result........

just through your female virture away, and make a dollar on the offering plate, no matter how shameful it may be......

Jen Fad Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 10:57AM

Brother Rob,
You have said alot. What else can I say to that? Ha! There are throngs of frustrated single females in the church and I made sure that I didn't become one of them. When those women would say, "I'm married to Jesus and that Jesus was their husband". I would say well He's not mine (husband).

The brothers in the church are have fornicating like crazy with the sistahs. They are making their rounds like some doctors on the night shift do with the nurses ( of course not with me).

When I got married and left those single frustrated sistahs, many of them were upset and they are still frustrated from what I hear.

I'm not joking... One woman, saw my engagement ring and moved to another seat. I'm totally for real. I love Jesus, but He ain't my husband and He knows it.

Craig Amos Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 11:07AM

OHHHH, so NOW we get to the heart of the matter. That's why people go to church. I knew it couldn't be b/c thy believed in Jack-and-the-Bean Stock or Jonah-and-the-Whale stories.

They're there to set up booty calls. Hell, I might just start going again. Thanks for the updates, Rob and JFad.

robert powell Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 11:12AM

Rev Amos, LOL-------------

"They're there to set up booty calls. I might just start going again."

but please do not thank me for any updates especially to your wife.

Jen Fad Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 5:07PM

@ Rev. Father Amos,

I know right, eh! You know what they say... if you want a good woman---go to church.

I remember asking some of the brothers in the church to please make this guy welcome that I had invited and they spoke with him--- found out he had interests in me ( and they wasn't trying to hear that ). The report was that he wasn't "spiritual enough". Go figure!

And when I got engaged, the brothers were acting all kind of how, especially this one that had his eye on me... I heard he cried.

They just wanted to have me (a fine young honey) for themselves. Ha!

Craig Amos Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 6:29PM

JFad, seeing is believing. Post a pic.

Just kidding. No disrespect to your hubby.

Jen Fad Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 6:39PM

@ Rev. Father Amos,

That was back in the day... now I'm a older more refined queen bee.

Craig Amos Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 7:36PM

That's even better. Congrats to the lucky man.

jamal Abraham Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 8:44PM

Good Blog ! It points out the falacy in African American female Preachers being a bunch of liars. But, if she can make a business and a very successful one out of telling people (mostly women) what they want to hear....then she is doing no more than all the lying and charlatan white preachers have been doing for years.

Jen Fad Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 9:31PM

@Brother Jamal,

Is everything White and Black with you? Don't you have any other colors to choose from in the rainbow? Ha!

Prophetess Bynum II has a mega business perhaps you and her could collaborate on how to draw some of her following to your Nation Building Project, because they seem similar --- profiting off the people for benefit of self. Are you the CEO of this Nation Building Proj. or will you have a board of directors that will be non family mbrs and close friends? Just curious...

robert powell Monday, June 21st 2010 at 9:54AM

Take a Listen for yourselves of the Utube clip called, "Straight Talk" - Juanita Bynum Interview Pt. 1 ~~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ltwim0fv6ug
as Bynum speaks about her new spiritual counselor Sharon Showell, her redefining, her 50th birthday ceremony (what was behind it), and much more. Honestly it doesn't sound biblical at all to me, but rather secular.

She said rather than doing what the bible calls repenting and forgiving ~~ she decided to move on. Get this ~~~ according to her Moving on is not personal, but its business~~ the business of life~~. What is this if its not something other than Christianity? You decide.

Do any people of black skin persuasion have any mega churches????

no "i" don't mean t.d. Jakes because his mega church and jets are not his out fight as he is only a shill...(smile)

and, I say this with what sister Jessica had said as proof of why this may be the reason the Pope has his own nation, country and his worth is priceless...(smile)

ROBINSON IRMA Thursday, April 10th 2014 at 6:47PM

...and, as far as the NOI goes...as long as they continue not to fit that on welfare, killing in war, gang banging, drug addict, school drop out mold, they don't even have a fighting chance to be accepted by our Black community at large now do they?!?

WAKE UP AND PLEASE HELP STOP THIS BRAINWASHINGS AGAINST OUR OWN...
