THE FAT LADY SANG!…AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL!

It’s a beautiful day in Hometown Memphis, Lil’ Extra!

Sunrise….

Oh what a beautiful morning…..oh what a beautiful day….
I’ve got a beautiful feeling…..
I CAN KEEP COOL TODAY!
06.14.2010
Memphis, TN

Memphis is on its way to having a beautiful heat wave of summer time weather. The heat is on bringing lots of sunshine to our bluff city citizens.. The heat index on average this week reached up to 105 degrees. Paramedics and firefighters were said to have answered several related calls to persons suffering with heat conditions. Officials are urging neighbors to keep an heat check on each other and make sure everyone is drinking plenty of water. Residents who do not have a fan or air-conditioner are encouraged to shelter in the nearest public air-conditioned facility. Places such as malls, community centers and libraries should rectify as cooling zones. If you are a senior without a fan to help blow a little air, The Aging Commission of the Mid-South Fans for Seniors Program will deliver to seniors 65 years plus or ones with disabilities. Need help you can keep cool today by giving them a call (901) 324-3399. There is a limited time to receive air conditioners through The Shelby County Community Services Agency, so if there are any left call soon. Contact the Mayor’s Assistance Center at (901) 545-4311 beginning June 15, 2010. It’s beautiful to help.

It is beautiful to help……

It’s a beautiful morning!.....I think I’ll go outside and
SMILE….
SMILE...THERE’LL BE NO ELECTRICITY CUT -OFFS!
06.17.2010
Memphis, TN

City Mayor A.C. Wharton has announced that no Memphis resident will be turned off due to non-payment of their electric bill. This beautiful act of generosity is being offered in order to help keep Memphians safe from heat related deaths and or conditions. The mayor stated…” Whatever it takes…we’re going to see that the citizens are cared for.” MLGW has a policy that keeps customers on during the winter months, but no policy for summer months with rising temps of 100 degrees or more. Mayor Wharton is working on making that happen and believe he’ll be totally supported by MLGW and counsel members. That’s a beautiful way to help too.
Just a reminder:…Customers will have the responsibility after the heat wave is over to Pay UP or the CUT-OFF will be back ON! …..:-)

You are so beautiful ……to me… ..You’re everything I hope for.. and you're everything…
I need…..........
YOU ARE A SYMBOL OF LIFE
06.18.2010
Clarksdale, MS

New mother and resident of Clarksdale, MS held her beautiful three-month old daughter with a new meaning of beauty. Her beautiful baby came close to death. The mother said she had finished feeding her bundle of joy named Jordon and laid her down for a nap. Then suddenly, the baby was choking. Calling 911 quickly a local police officer was there within minutes. The officer administered CPR for infants and the little one began breathing and crying. ..in quoting the officer’s statement he said… “The beautiful baby girl is doing fine.” The officer said she’s a fighter. “I don’t claim to be a hero,” “ I want to give that to God.” The officer was awarded The Challenge Coin for his heroic actions, but he didn’t keep it… he gave it to baby Jordon because he said: “It is a symbol of life.”

What a beautiful finale. It's all over..

Sing it FAT LADY!....

You…are SOOOOOOOOO…beautiful…........toooooooooo me!

Memphis is really doing something good, eh Miisrael! I think if I lived in Memphis, I'd just stop paying my electric bill for the entire summer. Ha!

There are plenty of people who care about others that live here in Hometown...and we strive our best to fight crime. Black and white and inter-racials all struggle with way-ward youths and gangs many churches and community groups are starting to place more focus on controlling crime in Memphis. I simply hate to hear of those awful gun crimes they are so senseless. And...finally those free utilities will need to be PAID, but at least they are working with payment plans to help the needy and elderly on fixed incomes.
See ya round... Thanks for dropping by
