(QM's note: Another thing, I wanted to share. See how much you know.)

1) After a heart attack, to help your heart heal you should avoid exercise.

False: Cardiac rehabilitation, a medically supervised exercise program, helps you get your strength back and reduces you risk of another heart attack. The programs, which include aerobic and strength training exercis , usually begin while you are still in the hospital.

2) You can have a stroke and not even know it.

True: A mini-stroke or a (transient chemist attack (TIA), happens when a blood clot clogs an artery for a short time and the brain doesn't get enough blood

Most TIAs last just a few minutes and don't damage the brain. However, they do signal that a more serious stroke is coming .

3) Drinking alcohol is a surefire way to lower your risk of heart problems.

False. Drinking alcohol in moderation has been linked to reduced heart disease risk, but most research is needed to confirm the findings. Drinking too much alcohol can increase your blood pressure and chances of a stroke, irregular heartbeats and sudden cardiac death.

4) Children should have their blood pressure checked regularly.

True. As more children become overweight, high blood pressure is becoming more common. Children should have their blood pressure checked at age 3 and sometimes early depending on a family's medical history.

Thank You, Marsha:

This is most valued information...especially for folks over 50. However, it (attacks) can happen to those who are younger as well.

Peace and Love,

Greg.
