The oil spill is no different from you spilling liquid on your new carpet. Obviously, you would call in an expert to clean it up and restore your carpet as if it was new. The carpet expert may take 45 minutes to an hour using his latest chemicals. Like wise, these 45 minutes to an hour is equivalent to BP, the officials and nature taking 40 to 50 years restoring the ecosystem.
