OOBE/NDE

I have a question for BIA. Has anyone ever had an "out of body experience" or a "near death experience?" If so, what sensations did you experience? I have outlined nine different elements that generally occur during NDEs or OOBEs.

A strange sound: A buzzing, or ringing noise, while having a sense of being dead.

Peace and painlessness: While people are dying, they may be in intense pain, but as soon as they leave the body the pain vanishes and they experience peace.

Out-of-body experience: The dying often have the sensation of rising up and floating above their own body while it is surrounded by a medical team, and watching it down below, while feeling comfortable. They experience the feeling of being in a spiritual body that appears to be a sort of living energy field.

The tunnel experience: The next experience is that of being drawn into darkness through a tunnel, at an extremely high speed, until reaching a realm of radiant golden-white light. Also, although they sometimes report feeling scared, they do not sense that they were on the way to hell or that they fell into it.

Rising rapidly into the heavens: Instead of a tunnel, some people report rising suddenly into the heavens and seeing the Earth and the celestial sphere as they would be seen by astronauts in space.

People of light: Once on the other side of the tunnel, or after they have risen into the heavens, the dying meet people who glow with an inner light. Often they find that friends and relatives who have already died are there to greet them.

The Being of Light: After meeting the people of light, the dying often meet a powerful spiritual being whom some have identified as God, Jesus, or some religious figure.

The life review: The Being of Light presents the dying with a panoramic review of everything they have ever done. That is, they relive every act they have ever done to other people and come away feeling that love is the most important thing in life.

Reluctance to return: The Being of Light sometimes tells the dying that they must return to life. Other times, they are given a choice of staying or returning. In either case, they are reluctant to return. The people who choose to return do so only because of loved ones they do not wish to leave behind.

Earl:

Thank you for the question. It is one that should be taken seriously.

I have never personally experienced anything like that. However, I know that writers have been reporting the identical experiences you describe since Plato wrote about the experiences of the slain warror Er in the tenth book of THE REPUBLIC.

I have experienced the spiritual presence of someone who has departed. So I know the phenomemon is real and that the soul is eternal and transcends death.

I am curious to see what kind of response you get.

Earl, I have experienced both. Near death experience several years ago where doctors told me they almost lost me. During the hours I was not aware of myself I visited a place with large columns heaven like and I met with a large angel who asked if I wanted to stay or go back. I said go back, because I have work undone I'll need to complete. It was most glorifying to me. When I came back I was still in the hospital and doctors and nurses were glad I had recovered from near death. Later, a nurse told me I was talking out loudly with God.

I have had several out of body experiences in the past. Some took me places I did not recognize. Once by a man's beside in a hosital where I encouraged him to come back because he had to take care of his young children who relied on him. I did not know the man or anything about him. Another occasion I spoke with a ghost spirit who was haunting a family because she did not want to leave her house. I encouraged her to go into the light. Then another I found prevelant I visted an old house with spirits that greeted and talked with me. They from what I could understand-- were waiting for something, but I can't exactly say whom or what. They gave me a tour of and were anxious to meet me. Perhaps it was me they were waiting for I'm not certain that's true.

Many other out of body experiences have happened since then...they are very eerie so I don't want anyone to think I'm a weirdo...I'll just keep those inside me as I too, have experienced much paranormal activity of a spiritual kind. These I was never afraid because God was with me.

Great discussion topic Earl.

No Earl, I have never had an out of the body experience, but I would love to meet a person in real life who have had one. It seem very interesting. (smile)
