SHE'S A REAL SISTER IN SISTERHOOD

Dr. V. Brown has been named the 2010 Hugh C. Atkinson Award recipient for The State of Illinois Libraries and organization. This award is given to a person, organization or program that has made a “lasting impact on librarianship.”
We all have special sisters in own lives. They all have special meaning to us and as individuals they influence, encourage and they give of their special personalities and inner and outward abilities of achievements. It is great appreciation I dedicate this blog piece to my real sister. She is presently servicing as Diversity Program Manager at the Illinois State Library. Miss Brown has a received a Doctrine Degree in Library Science and has over 35 years of library service. She is also a writer/author and information consultant.
"It is truly an honor" says the modest 5'3 who has succeeded in recieving numerous awards. This prestigious award is well deserved for her dedication of service and her perseverance of outstanding services as a librarian. She is noteworthy truly and no better choice could have been selected.
Hats off to a great Black Sister and to Sisterhood.
She's my real sister.
