A Mother’s Tears

A Mother’s Tears

Why does she cry?
Tears that slowly fall from her eyes.
Water that represents just what her heart bares.
It tells the secrets of a child who is gone astray,
slowly falling like a crept upon prey.
She reminisces on days gone by…
when she taught her kids to live with pride.
She honestly did her best!
Gave her all to keep them off the street.
OUT OF THE HOOD!
She couldn’t imagine what went wrong,
despite the fact that she raised her children alone.
She gave her life for that which she loved,
representing her children is what she adored.
A mother’s tear represents,
the joy of knowing she’s done her best.
Given up opportunities, at times settled for less…
All to give her children a decent life,
one filled with love and sacrifice.
Her children don’t know the path that she has laid.
Hell...they don’t even know the price she has paid.
Late night hours in someone’s home.
Working cash registers,
and selling newspapers on the phone.
Praying all the times, although it seemed,
that everything she hoped for was just a dream.
