Thousands of Memphians and out of towners will gather today for a memorial to the late Professional Basketball Player Lorenzen Wright. The memorial service will be held downtown Memphis at the Fed-X Forum beginning at 1 p.m. Since his death many have mourned from all over the country. His mother is concerned about follow up investigations and feel there were so many questions in the flaws of a 911 call placed by her son that was wasn't handle well. Wright's mother quoted..."Maybe they just didn't know how to handle it" Today they will handle their goodbyes.

Memphis is experiencing a long "Hot" summer. There has so far been 9 related deaths because of the heat. Most recently was a 62 year old man who perished after having a heat stroke while mowing his lawn. The mayor, A.C. Wharton has opened up many family centers that will accomodate persons needing cooling centers. All Memphians are encouraged to use this cooling locations as the temperatures remain from 100 to 104 degrees each day. Weathermen locally are advising a heat warning for Memphis with dangerous conditions for those outside.
Advising also that Memphians drink plenty of water and stay in if that is possible during peak heating hours of the day.
Whew!...The heat is on but we can handle it!

Join a birthday bash tonight to wish your President Happy Birthday! As part of celebrating a group of volunteers and well wishers will be out this eve to pass out information on voting and registrations along with upcoming support raisers for Obama. The event will be expecting at least over 100 attendees. If you're able to handle it come on down, or out to The Electrical Workers Union 1870 Madison Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. There'll be pizza, cake and ice cream!
