OLBERMANN BLASTS DR. LAURA FOR “GENUINE BLIND IGNORANT RACISM”—BUT NOT FOR USING THE N-WORD, August 13, 2010
Keith Olbermann blasted Dr. Laura Schlessinger Friday night — but not for her N-word rant. Instead, Olbermann focused on "what followed the fireworks," what he described as "the genuine blind ignorant racism."
Naming Dr. Laura his "Worst Person in the World," Olbermann criticized the following comments she made:
“I really thought once we had a black president, the attempt to demonize whites hating blacks would stop, but it seems to have grown. And I don't get it. Yes, I do. It's all about power.
“Translation: we elected one of you president, so stop complaining there's any racism left in this country," Olbermann said, saying her comments amounted to, "Haven't we done enough for you people?"
"Any buffoon can get on the radio and shout the N-word 11 times; that doesn't make them racist," he said. "The other part — 'I really thought that once we had a black president this would stop' — that makes them a racist.
