Why Am I

Thomasena Martin-Johnson · Thursday, August 19th 2010 at 1:33AM · 338 views
Why am I in this harsh cold reality
What did I do to earn my place
Have I not paid the price
Have I not earned my stripes?

Why am I here in this harsh, cold reality
I don't owe a debt
I did pay my dues
Do I ask for too much?

Why am I here in this harsh cold reaity
My father bled for me and you
My mothers tears were long over due
My reward is long over due.

CONFUSION

The light from the sun
guides my footsteps
through the maze
of doubt
and confusion.

The light
from the sun
opens
a path
to the
creator
of the universe.
