Question for Religious Readers: Which Son Was Sacrificed: Issac or Ishmael?
Where they do disagree on, however, is the identity of the sacrificial child. Christian Believe: The Bible states that this child was Isaac. Muslims believe that scribes later corrupted the original reading from Ishmael to Isaac...
Muslims on the other hand feel that Ishmael was the one offered up by Abraham. They believe that the Holy Bible supports this by its declaration that Abraham offered his only son. Ishmael was Abraham's only son for over 13 years, which would make it impossible for Isaac to be the chld of sacrifice. (Cf. Genesis 16:16, 21:5).

Disclaimer: I do not endorse any of the videoes, but merely post them as examples of people trying to explain which son Abraham was to sacrife. I don't really see why we argue about it since both sons and their seeds were blessed.

This question is a valid question of Believers in Monotheistism from The Family of Adaam.
In 2010 -- Believers have tools to verify any discrepancy of the sons/daughters of Adaam---Universities, Histories, Languages, Libraries---etc.
The script that you present in the aboven youTube is an Original Language of 2000+ years ago.
whether one speaks of AtTaurat, AlQur'aan -- AlInjeel--AzZaboor or any Words of The Creator of Adaam; a scholar or student realizes that to understand these Monotheistic Words, one MUST understand Original Languages -- hebrew, arabic and aramaic and the People who spoke these languages over 2000+ years.
Original Languages -- hebrew, arabic and aramaic are Written-- right to left with an alphabet that is the Antithesis or AntiCrystal direction and content from paganEuropean languages many only 1000 years old that are Written left to right........with Real 2000+ year old nonpaganEuropean lives.
This Ibraheem, IsaQ, Ismaeel(asm), Sara, Hajar--- riddle is a big one for many english or paganEuropean language speakers.
"puritanEnglish--kingJameshebrew thinkers may consider in their time that polygamus men are for kings only, not regular men---
Hence a story Theme of kingJames Version christianity meaning of 2000+ Hebrew Scripture, is that sara-the 'wife' of Ibraheem had an african slave, Hagar!
This is a historically Real Theme of 1492-1864 puritanEnglishmen----they had wives and their wives had african slave girls-----
great for the paganEuropean christian and jew, Disastorous for the African.............
But of course we know that this Story, or His "slaverChristian" Story, is not Ibraheem's(as) Real Story!
Historically in Genesis and many verses and in AlQur'aan and many verses; and in the content of 3000+ year old Ibraheem(as)---
Ibraheem(as) was a GREAT prophet of The Creator of Adaam, and Ibraheem had two(2) at least Wives, and Sons. Sara and Hajar were his Wives.
they both had sons and the son that The Creator has mentioned as the one to sacrifice Faithfully, was his first son Ismaeel.........sara had been barren and hajar was taken as a wife to give offspring. sara eventually had offspring......
this saintPartial--- only can spew englishVersion---paganFalsehood
---I would NEVER! not answer an Intelligent question about Monotheism and AlQur'aan!
---may Allaah have mercy on me if I cannot give the message to those that ask for the messages and signs of The Creator of Adaam..............
I am No scholar but I can read the Original Script, confer with Scholarship and render a transliteration of Original Language and a meaning of the Arabic language in english--may Allaah have mercy on me if I make a mistake.
Allaah gives us in AlQur'aan and entire Surah concerning Ibraheem!
and Ibraheem is mentioned in AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as) MANY times.
Ibraheem is revered by Mohamed(as) and the followers of Mohamed(as) more than many prophets -- with love for Musa(as).
If you wish to listen to a Scholastic 1431+ year account from the Original language of this Son-Riddle---an Truthful inquirer or student might read the total following.
Sūrat Ibrāheem (Abraham) XIV
In the Name of Allāah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
35. Remember when Ibrāheem (Abraham) said: "O my Lord! Make this Makkah(meccah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.
36. "O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind. But he, who follows me, he verily is of me. And he, who disobeys me, still You are indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
37. "O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred Kabah in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salāt (Iqāmat-as-Salāt). So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and O Allāah provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks.[1]
38. "Our Lord! Certainly, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allāah.
39. "All the praises and thanks be to Allāah, Who has given me in old age Ismāeel (Ishmael) and Ishāq (Isaac). My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of prayers and invocations.
[1] (V.14:37).
Narrated Ibn Abbās رضي الله عنهما : [On the authority of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم (See Fath Al-Bari, Vol. 7, Page 210)].
The first lady to use a girdle-shield was the mother of Ismāeel (Ishmael)--Hājar . Hājar used a girdle so that she might hide her tracks from Sāra.* Ibrāheem (Abraham) brought her and her son Ismāeel (Ishmael) while she used to nurse him at her breast, near the Kabah under a tree on the spot of Zamzam , at the highest place in the mosque. During those days there was nobody in Makkah, nor was there any water. Ismāeels mother followed him saying, "O Ibrāheem ! Where are you going, leaving us in this valley where there is no person whose company we may enjoy, nor is there anything (to enjoy)?" Then she asked him, "Has Allāah ordered you to do so?" He said, "Yes." She said, "Then He will not neglect us," and returned while Ibrāheem left, and on reaching the Thaniyyah where they could not see him, he faced the Kabah, and raising both hands asked Allāah saying:
Our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred Kabah; in order, Our Lord, that they may perform As-Salāt (Iqāmat-as-Salāt). So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and O Allāah provide them with fruits, so that they may give thanks. (V.14:37)
footnote-* When Ibrāheem married Hājar and she conceived Ismāeel, Sāra, Ibrāhīm (Abraham)s first wife became jealous of her and swore that she would cut three parts from her body. So Hājar tied a girdle-shield round her waist and ran away, dragging her robe behind her so as to wipe out her tracks lest Sāra should pursue her. "Allāah knows better."
Sūrat As-Sāffāt (Those Ranged in Ranks) XXXVII
In the Name of Allāah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
1. By Angels ranged in ranks.
2. By Angels who drive the clouds.
3. By Angels who bring AlQurāan from Allāah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathīr].
4. Verily your Ilāh is indeed Allāah:
Continuing
83. And among those who followed Nūhs (Noah) way by Monotheism was Ibrāheem (Abraham).
84. When he came to his Lord with a pure heart attached to Allāah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allāah Alone - true Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism.
85. When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship?
86. "Is it a falsehood - ālihah (gods) other than Allāah - that you desire?
87. "Then what do you think about the Lord of the Ālamīn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists)?"
88. Then he cast a glance at the stars,
89. And he said: "Verily, I am sick with plague. [He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan feast)]."
90. So they turned away from him, and departed for fear of the disease.
91. Then he turned to their ālihah (gods) and said: "Will you not eat?
92. "What is the matter with you that you do not speak?"
93. Then he turned upon them, striking with his right hand.
94. Then the worshippers of idols came, towards him, quickly.
95. He said: "Why Worship that which you, yourselves carve?
96. "While Allāah has created you and what you make!"
97. They said: "Build for him a building and throw him into the blazing fire!"
98. So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest.
99. And he said, " I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!"
100. "My Lord! Grant me offspring from the righteous."
101. So We gave him the glad tidings of a boy.
102. And, when his son was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am offering you in sacrifice to Allāah. What do you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Inshā Allāah, you shall find me As-Sābirūn (the patient)."
103. Then, as they had both submitted themselves to the Will of Allāah, and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead for slaughtering;
104. We called out to him: "O Ibrāheem!
105. You have fulfilled the dream!" We reward the Muhsinūn (good-doers).
106. That indeed was a Great trial.
107. And We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice (a ram);
108. And We left for him the Greatest remembrance from later generations.
109. "Salām be upon Ibrāheem!"
110. Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinūn (good-doers).
111. He was one of Our believing slaves.
112. And We gave him the good news of Ishāq (Isaac) - a Prophet from the righteous.
113. We blessed him and Ishāq (Isaac). And of their progeny are some that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves.
Sūrat Āl-Imrān------(The Family of Imran) III
In the Name of Allāah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
1. Alif-Lām-Mīm.
2. Allāah! Lā ilāha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).
3. It is He Who has sent down AlQurāan) to you Mohamed with truth, confirming what came before it. And He sent down the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel),
Continuing
92. By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (piety, righteousness - here it means Allāahs Reward-Paradise), unless you spend and give to Allāah that which you love; and whatever of good you spend, Allāah knows it well.
93. All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel made unlawful for himself before the Taurāt was revealed. Mohamed صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Bring the Taurāt and recite it, if you are truthful."
94. Then after that, whosoever shall invent a lie against Allāah, ... such shall indeed be the Zālimūn (disbelievers)
95. (O Mohamed صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Allāah has spoken the truth; follow the religion of Ibrāhīm Hanīfa (Islāmic Monotheism, he worshipped Allāah Alone), and he was not of Al-Mushrikūn " (See V.2:105)
96. Truly, the first House of worship appointed for mankind was that at Makkah, full of blessing, and a guidance for Al-Ālamīn (mankind and jinn).
97. In it are manifest signs. the Maqām-place; of Ibrāheem; whosoever enters it, he attains security. And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Kabah ) is a duty that mankind owes to Allāah, those who can afford the expenses (for ones conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves and denies Hajj, then he is a disbeliever of Allāah, then Allāah stands not in need of any of the Ālamīn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)
98."O people of the Scripture (Jews/Christians)! Why do you reject the Ayāt of Allāah (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) while Allāah is Witness to what you do?"
99. Say: "People of the Scripture (Jews/Christians)! Why do you stop those who have believed, from the Path of Allāah, seeking to make it seem crooked, while you are witnesses to Mohamed صلى الله عليه وسلم as a Messenger of Allāah and AlIslāam (Allāahs religion,-to worship none but Him Alone)]? And Allāah is not unaware of what you do."
100. Believers! If you obey a group of those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians), they would render you disbelievers after you have believed!
