@Saint Say What About That Mississippi School?! Nina Simone Don't Turn Over In Your Grave Sistah!

Simone's own admission, this was her first civil rights song. It was inspired by the murder of four girls in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church on 15 September 1963 by members of the Ku Klux Klan. I think this is by far one of the most powerful protest songs of the time... "do things gradually will bring more tragedy"... even today!

Jen, listening to this song brought to mind one of Beck's talking points today. If you can believe it, Unity.

Hello to All,

Okay, now that the dust has settled about Mrs. Nina Simone and her song what do Black Americans do now? What do you suppose Black America’s permanent solution is?

Do you believe that if we were a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders would we be torturing ourselves about this Mississippi incident?

Tell me what you think.
