Meet A Conservative’s Worst Enemy: A Conversation With Alan Grayson

Jen Fad · Tuesday, September 14th 2010 at 12:27AM · 537 views
Recently, we had an energizing visit from Florida Representative Alan Grayson – a progressive who isn’t afraid to fight for your rights. You probably remember him best for his comment during the Health Care debate. He said, ‘The Republican plan is to die quickly’.

Representative Grayson had a fascinating conversation before our live studio audience about his political roots, how he got to Congress, our expensive wars, and the secret to his success as a Congressman. This conversation between Robert Greenwald and Representative Grayson is full of humor and down to earth honesty.

Join Brave New Conversations, and watch this episode with Alan Grayson along with the many other entertaining, inspiring episodes we have released already including: Conversations with The Yes Men, Amy Goodman, Thom Hartmann, Shepard Fairey, Billy Bragg, Henry Rollins and Moby among others!

We are thrilled to announce that instead of paying $100 for this series, we have opened up Brave New Conversations to a pay-what-you-want model! That means you simply sign up and donate whatever you would like -- $1, $15, $50, even $1,000.

We have extended access to everyone so you can hear about, and be inspired by, these progressive heroes. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go directly to supporting our Conversations program and keep the other campaigns of Brave New Foundation thriving!

For your donation you can see all of the Conversations that have been taped thus far, plus all of the Conversations that we release for the next 3 years! Within a couple weeks we will release the next fantastic Conversations with comedian (and Dancing with the Stars contestant) Margaret Cho and Oliver Stone! Following that will be the 60’s activist Mark Rudd and many others. Click here and become part of the Conversation!

Thank you for supporting a strong progressive media.

Sincerely,
Mikaela Pollock, Robert Greenwald
and the Brave New Conversations team

I have to admit that he (Grayson) is the real deal. I'd like to see him run for President of course after President Obama finishes his second term. ((wink wink))

How soon we forget. The Democrats and Republicans were totally united in starting these wars. Show me the Democrats that opposed it!

Adam Fate Tuesday, September 14th 2010 at 1:05PM

And isn't it a Democratic president that made campaign promises to get us out of the wars? Did he know he was lying when he made those promise? Or did he become a liar after the fact?

Adam Fate Tuesday, September 14th 2010 at 1:06PM

Just more rhetoric from the two party bedfellows.

Jen Fad Tuesday, September 14th 2010 at 6:54PM

@ Brother Adam

Rep Grayson is a blue dog democrat who means business, eh. It's just too bad that there aren't more like him because the rest have buying and selling to the highest bidder. I'd vote for Rep Grayson if he ever decided to give the presidency a run. ((wink-wink))

Sister Jen, I'm afraid I was angry about other things when I listened to the video. We need to judge each candidate on his/her own merits, not along party lines. So thanks for not taking me to task for what seem to me as excessively harsh words in retrospect.

Brother Adam,
No worries.... we both are dissatified with both parties. What are your thoughts of those two Tea Partiers winning yesterday? Ain't that something?

Adam Fate Wednesday, September 15th 2010 at 3:15PM

Sister Jen, I will look for the news, I don't watch TV so I get all my info from the web. But I can tell you for certain, I don't approve of the the tea party.

I am a strange mix, not left, right or even middle. Our country needs to take care of the poor and needy, not take care really, but create equality. But it also needs to use some economic sense. I don't know what the hell to call myself when it comes to politics.

Am I a communist, a libertarian, what? Everyone in politics seems to have an agenda that is concerned only with the part, not the whole.
