Ted Haggard and Troy Sanders sounds off on Bishop Eddie Long

I saw A/C 360 yesterday and it was a really good show. I don't agree with Pastor Haggard's take because I felt he was being sentimental probably because he found himself in that exact same situation as Long. I find it hypocritical that ministers like Haggard and Long can stand up and preach Hell Fire about homos*xuals, but when it was them they wanted people to exclude them and have mercy on them. Hypocrites!!! Aren't hypocrites what Jesus loathed (of the Pharisees and Sadducces in his day)? I belive Jesus still loathes hypocrites today which is why I so agree with Pastor Troy Sanders re: Hypocrisy...& Bishop Long isn't excluded.

To answer the question in the blog though I think that we have to see the Black church as a subset of the Black community. Having said that, homos*xuality is a taboo subject in our immediate community so its no surprise that parishners turn a blind eye and agree by saying amen to homophobic messages coming from across the pulpit since that's the path of least resistance.

I think Pastors should stick to talking about Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to convict the hearts of men of sin rather than preaching their own personal opinions and convictions. Christians are to love everyone regardless of race, gender, or religion and do our part by studying the bible for ourselves.

I use to go around visiting different churches every holiday. I selected this one church because of all the beautiful cars that were parked outside of it. During the services I noticed that there were more men there then women. There was a woman walking around saying " somebody please love me" over and over, she even got up on the pullpit walking around talking and was escorted off. I later found out that it was a homos*xual church. My opinion was that the reason why so many Black women are single is because Black men preferring to love the same s*x or outside of their race.

I don't agree with Tory or Haggard. They both are hypocrites. Haggard at least admitted what he did was wrong and asked for forgiveness. He said it was a sickness. repentance. (Forgive the sinner, hate the sin. Isn't that what everyone her is doing, hating the sinner and not his sin. It seems homos*xuality is being excepted in every facit of life today. Sanders on the other hand, came out the closet, founded a church where others like him could take certain scriptures out of the bible & twist them to apply to their own situation and given that well women statement that every denouncer uses. Homos*xuallity is a sin and thats all there is to it.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination Lev 18:22
If the allegations are true, we should all pray for Long, denounce his sin, but forgive the sinner. Thats not to say I would ever go to his church. I couldn't sit an listen to someone tell me something that he doesn't live and walk himself. Thats my problem with the churches and the reason I haven't found a church home also. DRAMA!

Greater questions should be asked:
1. What is the message that we are giving to our children, when those who proselytize the word of a "God" and willing distort the truth in their lives while criticizing others for "evil" transgressions. Aren't they nothing more than a wolf in sheep clothing? They knowingly prey on and mentally destroy those who are weak and spiritually in need of help.

2. In their corruptive behavior they do not attempted to pray for help or persuade those whom they've corrupted to stop there "sinful" actions before it's to late. Once they've participated in perverted s*x, are they getting on their knees and asking for forgiveness?

3. If a parishioner has an accident and dies after a s*xual encounter, does the preacher feel he is exonerated by God for what he has done?

4. Do you think the preacher is seen as a false prophet or leader in the eyes of God?
The devil can disguise himself as anything...who better to transform into than a preacher..."You shall know them by their deeds".
Our people believed in Jim Jones the murderer, Catholic priest pedophiles and other megalomaniacs who use and abuse the innocent.

5. Why do we continue to protect those who break the law, is it just because "they claim" to be a servant of a "God"? Who is this God "they" serve?

4. Who will protect our people and in particular our children from those who profess to be Godly, while at the same time rob our spirits of its purity and rob our pockets from economic security?

These people don't believe in a "God". Never have and never will. Their sole motivation is money, greed, s*x and power!

Lying, Defrauding other Christians, and the Love of money is also a sin; Having said that, What do you suggest a homos*xual man or lesbian woman do where church is concerned, because they also love God?
