Yes Adam, we really don't really know, but as you said it is between him and God. We apt to downtrod a person quickly who elevates in works of God, but if he was not in such a notable position sins like one he has been accused would go un-noticed-- and many of persons would think little about it. I think ones blessed with public religious positions should always be aware of what they are doing. This reflects on those who may want a relationship with God to be a little less likely to believe. Whatever the purpose of this involvement the message is in my opinion --we should be watchful of things we do in the dark and always do things in the light.
