If Bishop Long had affairs with women would there be as much outrage?

I took your poll, but I saw that over 50% said there would be the same outrage and that he still let the church down had he had affairs with women instead of men. I don't think that people are being real. I think that the issue would go away after an apology if there were no love children produced from the affairs.

If the Bishop had affairs with adult women and/or adult men if would be a different outrage considering the fact that the people involved are supposed to be more mature.

But in the case of children, I can understand the outrage becuase if he indeed did this, this was a violation their trust. Much like when a child grows up thinking Santa Claus is real, but soon enough they realize that the adult(s) they loved and trusted lied to them.
