According to J.A. Rogers, the word slave" originally applied to eastern Europeans---Russians captured by Germans. The first slaves in the U. S. were Europeans, mostly British, who scaecely survived the middle passage. In the West indies, they were held for life, especially the Irish. These people were sold in the U S until 1826, fifty years after the Declaration of Independence. President Andrew Johnson was a runaway and was advertised for in the newspaper.

In 1620, Va. passed a law forbiding Negroes from buying European people. This as 51 years after Africans arrived in chains. Free peoplr of African descent bought them in large numbers in Louisiana until the state passed a similiar law in 1818.

White British children were kidnapped in the British Isles at a rate of several thousands yearly in the 17th and 18th Centeries and sold into slavery in America and the West Indies. Sometimes they were bootlegged and sold as, of African descent. SALLY MULLER, who was held in servitude in Louisiana for 26 years. After several court battles, her birth certficate was found in Germany and the Supreme Court freed her in 1818.

In 1860, There were 487,000 free Negroes un the U. S. some of who owned slaves.

Good information, however there is a difference between a slave and an indentured servant. What is the difference? The indentured servant was freed after serving time for a debt or offense or until they could be integrated into the community. Black slavery in America was NEVER to end.

The first Africans who came to these shores, were indentured and earned their freedom just like the other indeentured passangers. They landed in Va. and were given head-right at the end of their servitude.

I don't have a link but the book is "110 Amazing facts about the Negro" with proof, by J. A. Rogers.
"s*x and Race Volumn II" by J. A. Rogers

Hello to All,

It is very difficult for me to believe that Black Americans could own any people since White people were lynching Black Americans for sport and play.

Emmett Till was brutally and deliberately murdered just 50 years ago and his killers walked free, am I right. How, in good sense could you all believe that they were free Black Americans?

If you wish to respond, please make some sense. Otherwise, just do not respond, okay.

Tell me what you all think.
