Cynthia, a few wanted it. Most I think don't need it. Look at all the crap I allow on my blogs, even libel. Yet the one who doesn't hesitate to commit libel complains LOUDLY about me posting on his blogs. And this when the request was already being respected by me. So really why would I give a rat's ass about being blocked? And you sure as hell won't see me use the feature, or Robert. The TWO GREATEST BIA TROUBLEMAKERS OF ALL TIME!

I now have my own list of bloggers I will not even visit their blogs.

The only solution is for every one to agree to follow the GOLDEN RULE.

That means courtesy, dignity and respect to all regardless of race, religion, color, creed, ethnic or national origin, s*xual preference, political affiliation or any other human group membership. Period.

This is someone I have actually offered to campaign for, because though I may not agree on 100% of the issues, he is honest enough to give his true positions, and not toe any party line. Sorry Irma if I seem to have gone off-topic, but this seemed a good place to get exposure on the importance of our political process, and perhaps some of the political issues have parallels to the governance of Black in America social network.

Unfortunately, there will always be mean spirited people in our communities. This is true in ALL places where people gather. It will be true even in our BIA prophets projected future communities. It is true in communities where the members share a common trait like ethnic background, religion, political beliefs and any other quality you can name.

And it is true in this online community.

We just have to accept it as a fact of life.

Peer pressure and shared community values are always a potent check on dysfunctional, anti social behaviors. NObody can FORCE ethical and moral behavior on anyone--but the community can speak out against it and make it clear that it is unacceptable.

Irma, I wish I could vote a write-in but in the final analysis it's the same thing as not voting, except for personal satisfaction. But personal satisfaction isn't enough for me, though I admire your principles. I will vote my conscience, but I am forced to vote on other than a candidate's representation of me, in all cases I've looked at (have not looked yet at the gubernatorial choice), except for the state representative I can vote for in clear conscience (the Independent). So for me it has come down to casting my votes on the principle that there needs to be a balance in Congress so that the Parties cannot run amok.
