Condoleezza Rice stopped by the "Daily Show" with Jon Stewart on Wednesday to discuss her new book, "Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family."

While the pair may not agree about politics, Stewart said he had been "charmed" by Rice when they met at a book expo. They spent most of the segment discussing Rice's childhood and experience during the civil rights movement, with tales that ranged from touching to funny.

She explains what it was like growing up under Jim Crow in the Birmingham and why her father did not March with Dr. Martin Luther King.

In a second segment, Rice dove into foreign policy and some domestic politics. Rice, of course, was secretary of state under President George W. Bush.

I thought it was a great interview. Clearly, she is one of the most important historical figures of our time--and she has a great and inspiring story to tell.

And they do it with good humor!!!

I agree...Condoleza Rice and Michelle Obama are the true Proverbs 31 women!!!

Right--all of the above.

She is so pretty, smart and classy--and throughout the interview I kept noticing how toned her arms are--she is a famous work-out freak.

I hope she does remain in the public eye.
