RELIGIOUS ARGUMENTS...THE WORST SORT OF CONVERSATION!!!

RELIGIOUS ARGUMENTS...THE WORST SORT OF CONVERSATION!!!

Peace To All:

These days it's a common sight to see people arguing via comments on many of the BIA pages on the Internet. While reading such comments, it makes us wonder at many times if the person is arguing for the sake of proving their point, or rather for the Truth to be known.

If the argument is rather for the Truth to be known, then this is what is said in the Qur'an:

"Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from Error; whoever rejects Evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold,
that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things."
(The Qur'an: 2.256)

"So (O Prophet) exhort them (to the right path). (for) Your task is only to exhort.
You cannot compel them (to accept the truth). Whosoever turns away and disbelieves, Allah will punish him with a mighty punishment. Surely to Us they will have to return, then it will be upon Us to call them to account (for what they used to do)."
(The Qur'an: 88.21-26)

According to the above verse from the Quran, we should only let the Truth be known but not enforce it on anyone because the Truth is self-apparent. In the end, we can only pray that God guides them to the right path.

As our lovely Sister Ladonna (aka Mother Goddess) shared with us: WHEN WE ARGUE, THE DEVIL JOINS US!

May God help us All in keeping away from time and energy wasting arguments, and allow us to be one of those who help others as well as themselves in following the guidance given in both Bible and Quran in our daily manners.

Love 2 Live & Live 2 Love,

Siebra

As-Salaam-Alaikum, Sis. Siebra..." we should only let the Truth be known but not enforce it on anyone because the Truth is self-apparent" ...absolutely. No doubt, force tactics should not be used. I leave it up to ministers and preachers to try to convert. My goal on BIA is NOT to convert anyone. Rather to inform of my divine mission. But, it is the blatant slander against holy prophets that generate arguments because all holy prophets and messengers deserve honorable mention, and I am one that will defend Islam wherever and whenever.

I'm glad I'm a Deist and don't need to defend anything religious, including Deism.

I don't think anything is ever resolved with arguments. A person must have a keen responsibility to know that arguing is senseless. Nice post Butterfly.

One must have something first... before establishing that it is worth defending.

Adam Fate Wednesday, November 10th 2010 at 10:35PM

Why would one debate something unprovable? I believe I'm created, the evidence is sufficient to me, but not sufficient to prove it to anyone who is already convinced otherwise. Thus it would be a waste of time to try.

The problem is, the human psyche has trouble dealing with the unknowable. I accept the unknowable. I accept that I could be wrong, and that DNA created itself.

Who was it that said "The truth is hurled against the lie and knocked out it's brain"?

jamal Abraham Wednesday, November 10th 2010 at 11:03PM

People accepted that the earth was flat for years..people lived and died with this falsehood for centuries. Until evidence proved them wrong. Now, think of all those millions of people on earth who are in the grave that never got to know the truth. So there must be some yearning for the truth...there must be some yearning to know...living with your eyes closed and hands over your ears is no way to live in my humble opinion.

Hello to All,

I see there is an argument going on between all of you without having anything to argue about, am I right. Most of you have mentioned let the truth be known. However, none of you have placed a truth on the blackboard to argue.

So, let's start with this truth, what is the definition of God? After answering that question my next question is, does a God exists and how do we know.

Tell me what you think.

there is no fight there is no conflict there is knowledge that has to go forth,,, people need to raise above there present ''state of mind'' in thinking that there is a lot of fighting going on especially about religion,,,, this is not a war,,,,,, this is a hard way to show that some of dont want to change and dont want to see thinks in a new light our ''mind set'' is having a rude awakening and its being done so the real truth will surface ,,,now because if the lack of knowledge some people take longer to find the truth or some people dont want to see the truth for what it is you don't know what i know and i don't know what you know ,,,,until that time comes i will try to enlighten you as i research and find the truth for myself ! i love to share the truth !
remember truth stands alone and doesn't need a answer so feed back is not warranted !

Thank you, Siebra, for the wise insight.

In my opinion, religious disputes are the number one cause of conflict, violence, misery, and war in the long sad history of our planet.

For thousands of years, people adopted the religious beliefs of their community. It was the only thing they knew. Most people never traveled far from home. Most people knew nothing about other ways of worshiping the Divine Lord.

So for thousands of years, one of the chief goals of religion--any religion--was to gain converts and grow.

Now, in the 21st century, when media and technology has made the world closer and we have something approaching a GLOBAL VILLAGE, where events from one end of the world can travel acorss the world in seconds, it is now possible to be aware of the many and glorious diverse ways of praising God in many languages, cultures and religions.

It seems to be that now, more than ever before in human history, the main goal of religion has to be to help us all live together in peace. We know the alternative--and it ain't pretty.

As so many of you all have pointed out, arguments over religion are pointless. What we need is tolerance and mutual respect.

"I" respect A-L-L religions..."I" love to 'dialogue / learn about A-L-L religions...etc...

and, this is why "I" never have any reason to 'argue' which is the correct / wrong...best / worst religon in the first place. (smile)

ROBINSON IRMA Thursday, April 10th 2014 at 6:47PM

and, all of this is going to become the "TRUTH" the day after we accept that WE ARE A-L-L GOD'S CHILDREN...

AND AS A NDB, "I" CAN SAY WITHOUT REGRE TOR SHAME NOR FEAR OF GOING TO HELL THAT, "WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN"...(EVEN GAYS)

CAN YOU?!? (SMILE)
