AMENDMENT TO STATE CONSTITUTION BANNING SHARIA LAW PASSES WITH 70% OF VOTE—AND COURT OVERTURNS IT

Rachel: Why do you think it passed?
Mr. Awad: The amendment resonated with a lot of voters who don’t know anything about Islam, who don’t know any Muslims. They only know what these politicians tell them. We already have a law that says Sharia Law won’t take over our courts—in fact, no religious law will take over our courts. It’s called THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

It is good to notice that the reason this ballot measure passed was solely due to fear and ignorance.
