BAR IN PHILLY BANS BLACK PEOPLE FROM VISITING

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – A bartender has sued a popular Philadelphia restaurant and bar where he works, claiming it discouraged nonwhite customers from visiting.

The federal lawsuit filed Tuesday by part-time bartender and lawyer Michael Bolden claims the general manager at McFadden’s Restaurant and Bar told a weeknight supervisor to end a promotion popular with black clientele. According to the lawsuit, the manager wrote the employee a text message that read, “We don’t want black people we are a white bar!”

Bolden’s lawsuit also claims a dress code banning patrons from wearing baggy clothes, work boots and white T-shirts is part of a pattern of discrimination.

In an e-mail to The Philadelphia Inquirer, an attorney for the restaurant’s parent company denied the company has any policies of racial discrimination.

Yo David:

Interesting story... I don't frequent bars (especially due to my later years), but I'm not surprised at this practice! Many bars in "Philly" attempt to discourage patrons of color from visiting and/or frequenting thier establishment(s).

I can recall (back in the day) when and if a Black Person bought a drink at one of the bars in East Falls, they broke and threw away the glass after you'd drank your drink. And that's if you were allowed in in the first place.

Many of these type(s) of white establishments use clandestine tactics to discourage Black patronage and cover up their actions as to prevent law enforcement and code violation authorities from catching them in the act.

It was practiced right out in the opening then...but now its catch me if you can...while john law looks the other way.

Go Figure...

Good report, I'll pass it along!

SANKOFA

Peace and Love,

Greg.

So ...let me get this straight....black people are suing white people because they can't run up in a crackkahs establishment and send that black money out of their own black comunity forever and ever. They're suing that white establishment because that white establishment owner refuses to let dumb black people send his white cracckah daughters to college, and pay for their weddings to white men who will oppress their black children. I hope the black bartender wins the case, opens up a health food store for black people in a black community since black folks don't have any business being in a bar in the first place let alone a crackkahs establishment. The salvation of black people on this planet will not be found at the bottom of a bottle of the white man's liquor. Last time I checked...aint there a liquor store, a bar and church on every block in every black community across this country. Why ar black folks in Philly always trying to go in white people' sh*t? We can't we build our own? Damn I wish segregation would re-appear. Thenmaybe black folks would stop acting like white people ice is colder than theirs. Boo hoo....the devil don't want us in his establishment. We should burn in hell for being in there subsidizing him in the first place. I guess a black bar owner don't need his rent paid ....so lets go on over here and force our hard earned monies on this here cracckah. I confess....my people make me sick.
