ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A federal judge ordered actor Wesley Snipes to surrender to authorities Friday so he can begin serving a three-year prison sentence for tax-related crimes. U.S. District Court Judge William Terrell Hodges in Ocala, Fla., rejected a request from the actor's attorneys to review Snipes' sentence and grant a new trial. Snipes has been free on bond for more than two years while appealing.

"The defendant Snipes had a fair trial; he has had a full, fair and thorough review of his conviction and sentence. ... The time has come for the judgment to be enforced," the judge wrote in his 16-page decision.
The 48-year-old star of the "Blade" trilogy and Spike Lee's "Jungle Fever" was convicted in 2008 on three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file his income tax returns. He was acquitted of two more serious felony charges.

Snipes will have plenty of time to think about his decision on not paying his taxes because today December 9, 2010 he went to prison.

Its crazy isn't it sista. It's like the more you make, the more you scander. I don't understand why people in that position don't take care of their finances and then things like this happens. Its so many blacks too. Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker, Nick Cannon and the list goes on. Like I said Just plain old crazy!

Sister Anita,

[Among the charges were his failure to file tax returns or pay any taxes for the years 1999-2004 and filing false amended returns in an effort to get back the money he had paid in those years. The case has bounced around different courts going through different forms of appeal...]

The jury and judge ruled that Wes "willfully" decided not to pay. He knew what he was doing and even filed ammended tax returns saying that the IRS owed him something like $11 million. Go read his case. He's silly especially since his behind is getting the Bush Tax cuts. He should sit in prison and think about how ignorant he was for listening to an ex-con by the name of Eddie Ray Kahn (who did jail time in the 80's for tax crimes).

Just read the post Sista and its amazing to me how a man as smart as we presume Wesley Snipes to be, could ever think that he could make millions and not pay taxes. Well, whatever he gets he deserves, the FOOL!
