A Republican congressman from Iowa has accused has accused President Obama of publishing "slavery reparations" through Congress.

"Figure this out, Madame Speaker: We have a very, very urban Senator, Barack Obama, who has decided he's going to run for president, and what does he do?" Rep. Steve King (R-IA) asked on the House floor Monday night. "He introduces legislation to create a whole new Pigford claim."

As senator, Obama pushed for a settlement with black farmers and Native Americans who were discriminated against.

King argued that the claims of African-American farmers and American Indians who were discriminated against in the 1980s and 1990s by the Department of Agriculture are fraudulent. However, the Senate last week approved a $1.2 billion settlement for the Pigford II and Cobell claims. A federal judge approved the settlement in February after an investigation by the FBI.

Still, King ignored the fact that because of USDA denied the loans to the claimants in a discriminatory fashion -- the settlement's basis -- most of the black farmers lost their livelihoods.

"We've got to stand up at some point and say, 'We are not gonna pay slavery reparations in the United States Congress,'" he said. "That war's been fought. That was over a century ago. That debt was paid for in blood and it was paid for in the blood of a lot of Yankees, especially. And there's no reparations for the blood that paid for the sin of slavery. No one's filing that claim."

A USDA spokesperson replied to King's accusations, noting that they are "nothing more than an attempt to derail an effort to provide long-overdue compensation to thousands of farmers who were discriminated against over several decades."

"Current census numbers on black farmers are not the proper guide for the number of claimants, and certainly no basis for allegations of fraud," the spokesperson said. "Out of the 15,000 claims processed under Pigford I, the FBI determined that only 3 claims were fraudulent, and this Administration is committed to ensuring that the new claims process has integrity and provides justice to those who have suffered discrimination."

The Pigford settlement has been mired in controversy which crested earlier this year with the firing of USDA appointee and Pigford claimant Shirley Sherrod, due to a right-wing blogger's doctored video of her at a March 2010 NAACP event.

King's media profile rose last week for his request that WikiLeaks be deemed a "foreign terrorist organization."

Hello Steve,

Is not the article you blogged written by Nathan Diebenow another excellent reason that Black Americans must and will become a sovereign people by inheriting a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way?

For instance, the article said this, "… the fact that because of USDA denied the loans … in a discriminatory fashion … black farmers lost their livelihoods.
A USDA spokesperson replied to King's accusations … an attempt to derail … long-overdue compensation to thousands of farmers who were discriminated against over several decades."

Now, this argument is evident that White America has absolute control over the lives of all Black Americans as when Black America's ancestors were plantation slaves, am I right.

Black Americans do not want to be in the loop of White America. Black Americans want to be a sovereign people to exercise self-determination. If Black Americans were sovereign there would not be a case of discrimination. The reasoning for the discrimination is because Black Americans are a different people from White Americans. In other words, you cannot discriminate against yourself. Anyone will take care of both their right and left hand, am I right.

Out of it all God has assured me that a change is on the horizon for Black Americans becoming a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. The same as when God had assured Moses of the Exodus.

Tell me what you think.

Harry, I'm pretty sure that not all of the farmers to whom this settlement is being made live within the proposed boundaries of your nation. I'm pretty sure they need the money now and not at some indeterminate point in the future. And I'm pretty sure that the proposed boundaries of your nation do not define an area suitable for production of all the necessary foodstuffs, in particular wheat, corn, and beef.

Not to mention all the produce grown primarily in California.

So once you divide the nation into White America and Black America, you will be content to be dependent on imports from White America?

Steve Williams Thursday, December 2nd 2010 at 5:29PM

How about we name it the Central Party, or does the center not exist?

Hello Steve,

I think that you have misunderstood my point. My point has nothing to do with any monies the Black farmers need now. My point has nothing to do with produces.
My point has to do with another reason why Black Americans must become a sovereign people, which is exemplified by the discriminatory practices of White America's Interior Department for decades again and Black Americans.
For instance, there has not been a case where White America's Interior Department discriminated against White Americans, am I right. My point has everything to do with Black Americans being an inferior people to White Americans. My point has to do with White Americans governing and controlling every facet of Black Americans lives. My point is that Black Americans wants to be a sovereign people. My point is that Black Americans do not want to be governed and controlled by White Americans. Do you get the picture, Steve?

For 500 years White Americans has always done wrong to Black Americans. Likewise, for 430 years Egypt's Pharaoh had done humane injustices to the children of Israel, am I right. In both cases we are talking about two different people and the resolution God instituted was that the children of Israel must be freed. God has instituted that Black Americans inherit a portion of this continent to be sovereign free as well.

Now, am I right when I say that White America's Interior Department discriminatory practices for decades against Black Americans is another substantial reason why Black Americans must desire and will become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders?

Tell me what you think.
