Anne Hathaway is hosting the Academy Awards this year -- and she's got way more than just one date.

The 'Love and Other Drugs' star, who is hosting the Oscars this year alongside James Franco, visited Staten Island’s PS 22 in New York City on Thursday, as a special surprise guest for the school choir's Annual Winter Concert. As if that wasn't thrilling enough, Hathaway came on stage during the show and gave them all a gigantic holiday gift: she's taking the choir to Los Angeles to perform at the Academy Awards.

The students, predictably, went nuts in excitement over the news, not unlike some who actually win the awards.

Oh My Goodness. That was awesome. You don't hear too much happening in Staten Island. I had to call my daughter and tell her to view the video. She said, mommy that's right up the street from us. Man, thats great. Great Post!
About the earrings: I have the adapters, but in the wrong color (gold) whereas the earrings are in metal. I just tried them and they're not the proper type, so I will call my supplier on Monday to see what kind of other adapters they have. Thanks!

The PS22 chorus was founded in 2000 by the school's music teacher, Gregg Breinberg, who started blogging about it in September 2006 following requests on a Tori Amos fan page, where he had shared some of his videos. Since then the chorus has become an Internet phenomenon. In 2009 New York magazine called it "the best-known elementary-school chorus on the planet".[3]

Thanks Rich. As a rule I don't watch these awards, but I will this year.(smile)

Because they are centered on the children, Christmas and Easter are my favorite times of the year...
