Comedian Tracy Morgan Has Kidney Transplant In NYC
NEW YORK (December 20, 2010) -- Comedian Tracy Morgan is recovering after undergoing a kidney transplant in New York City.
A spokeswoman for the actor on television's "30 Rock" said Monday that Morgan is "doing well" and taking time off to recover from the surgery.
Spokeswoman Nicole Chabot says Morgan expects to get back to work after the holidays.
Morgan plays Tracy Jordan on the NBC sitcom about the funny business of working for a live variety show.
He's also had starring roles in movies and appeared on "Saturday Night Live."
