The Queen's Chair: R&B Singer Teena Marie Dies From Heart Attack
I'm at a loss for words right now. R&B Singer Teena Marie was found dead in her home today. Her death was caused from a heart attack. She was only 54.
Dubbed the "Vanilla Child" and "Lady T", she signed with Motown Records at the age of 17. Her musical protege was Buffalo's own Rick James and he helped her record some classic songs: Fire and Desire, Square Biz, Portuguese Love, Behind The Groove, Aladdin's Lamp, and Deja Vu. And boy, could she blow.
Last month, she had a seizure in her home. That's why her cause of death wasn't released immediately.
Teena Marie was a much better singer than Madonna, but never got her proper due. Madonna had a bigger name, but Teena Marie had her props and pipes. I started my own musical tribute to her tonight. Rest in peace.

I didn't realize you had blogged the death of our dearly beloved Sister Teena. She was truly one of a kind, eh! Rest in peace Lady Tee.
