The Nation of Islam is really the catalyst of African Americans. It is the potentially most ACTIVE element of the black american experience. If black Americans are going to come out as a nation of people after our sojourn in America for the last approx. 500 years, it will undoubtedly materialize via the Nation of Islam. What is mentioned from relevant sources about the nation of Islam should be enough for one to become as a minimum very curious about the teachings. The only problem is the current leadership which has grown obsolete and stagnant.

The NOI was created for the elevation of a people's thinking to DO FOR SELF and focus on what needs to be done for self. It teaches you the true knowedge of Allah (God), who we as Black people are, how we came into existence, and how the enemy uses the knowledge they have to try to make and keep you beneath them. The NOI is by no means anti-semitic. We want the same things every other sane person wants... FREEDOM OR FREE (smile)

@solomon and powell, are you saying that the NOI do racial / s*xual/ gender profilings of who qualify and don't qualify if they show they have individual natural behaviors like, asking questions or want to by someting other than a business person...say like a poet who don't want to sell their poems but to give them away?????????!!!!!!!!!!?...

to try and unite all who say they are members of the NOI at least to say we are one in our struggles against historical instution of oppression of our peoples? (smile)

@powell, I so understand your saying that this is a religion as I so often say I avoid calling my NDB a religion as I always say a 'practice'...and why I can respect all members of the NOI by seeing the big picture of pride and use of power ...

and "I" can still know that "I" as individuals have and still see have the civil and legal rights the female as equal not less then nor gays...(smile)

@Jamal, in my practice we say and accept that our organization is so strong until it can only be distroyed from within not from the outside...and, what I see going on amonge the members of the NOI is that it is being distroyed from within...and I say this only because I only see any put downs of teh NOI on this site is by the members who say they are NOI members-ACTIVE MEMBERS.(SMILE)

@Siebra, you and I do have a great Black chosen leader as this is where I got my raasons to follow this purpose to the NOI... and still be albe to be my own self as FREE. "YOOOOOOOOOOO"(smile)
