The Queen Of Soul wants Halle Berry to portray a young Aretha in the film based on her autobiography, "Aretha: From These Roots."

The 68-year old singer also wants Denzel Washington to portray her father, C.L. Franklin and Terrance Howard to play the role of a young Smokey Robinson.

Halle is a wonderful actress, however I think Jennifer Hudson should have the honor of playing Aretha...she sings from the heart...she has that church sound

I think Taraji Henson. That girl is smoking hot right now and she can act and sing. Whoever it is, that movie is going to be bad, filled with all Areatha's oldies but goodies. Will definitely get the soundtrack!
