NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT FANTASY THAT GUNS DETER CRIME AND STOP SHOOTING SPREES, Rachel Maddow, Jan. 13, 2011

Rep. Trent Franks (R-Arizona): “You know, I wish there had been one more gun there that day in the hands of a responsible person. That’s all I have to say.”

Rachel: In fact, there was a man on the scene at the shooting in Tucson, a witness to the shooting on Saturday, a responsible gun owner who had his legal weapon on him and loaded at the time of the shooting.

He was a guest on the Ed Schultz show this week.

“I almost shot the man holding the gun,” he said.

So, to be clear to everybody who said they wished there was someone other than the killer on the scene with gun—there was someone other than the killer on the scene with gun. And the person he almost shot was one of the heroes that disarmed the killer.

The Arizona Rep. and many other gun zealots want many more people to carry guns because they think guns equals less shooting.

There is another possibility--that more guns will lead to MORE shooting and more deaths of innocent people.

Last Saturday, one of the heroes who disarmed the bad guy came within a heartbeat of getting shot himself--by mistake.

Once that trigger is pressed you can't call the bullet back.

Yes!

The data she presents is surprising and astounding.

The top five states with the highest gun murder rate are also the states with the highest gun possession rates.

The five states with the LOWEST gun murder rates are the states with the LOWEST gun possession rates.

File under: DUH!!!

And Irma--

I just saw a segment on Countdown offering a definition for the word "Hannitize": (v) To clean up a messy situation with a softball interview, typically one conducted by Sean Hannity.

@Rich, Clark...Fox has finally found out when they will have Palin on and where...

Sean Hannity...1-17-11...6pm est.(opposit Rachel lol)We all know this will be more of them trying to distance themselves from her and she will not have one clue about their network has said to tone it down...and, I doubt if Rupert M. can afford another civil law suit. (otflmao)(smile)

ROBINSON IRMA Thursday, April 10th 2014 at 6:47PM

...if Fox themselves had a clue, they would have Sarah on on a Fri. when MSNBC don't run 24 hours. but are off the air for the week-end...this way they can run sound bites of this program all week long 24 hrs a day!loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool (smile)

YEP...sort of like a warning to tose at FOX, "We are ready for you". (rotflmao) and I can not wait until next week because Olbermann and Rachel are not one to declare war on...and I thought the Republicans could dig themselves a pit but the Teaparty has changed my mind on digging 'endless pits' for ones self...but we at this time need this chance to laugh together...

not to mention teh comedy channel and snl...boy do I love this country of free speech.lol (smile)

And, why did they not pair her with Beck??? NOw taht O'reilley seem to onlyhave people on to make himlook goood and neutral in all of this I know she would never have been paired with him...but because it seem all of the front runners for 2012 works for fox in some way they have had to have her on some how and i am sure Hannity is not a happy camper. (otfl) (smile)

and, because fox is owned by a Jew, I wonder if she will use this time to apologize or they be forced to fire her under pressure? and, the whole tings just get sbetter and better as the birthers and teaparty of palin's bite the dust. lol (smile)
