$64,000 QUESTION FOR THE FORUM CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS?

My word is bond and bond is life, before my word shall fail I shall give my life. The key or enface is place on the word, word. The Muslims should be familiar with this saying. To give your word one must understand the value in doing so, for your word is an assurance, or guarantee.
However many of us if not all of us fall short in keeping our word.
Example (come on, we ALL do it):
You say you are no longer going to do such and such and do
And the $64,000 question is...why is it literally impossible to keep our word. Could it be due to the conditions of life as we know and practice?

Vey introspective. Forces us examine ourselves and question our motives.
Why do we find it so difficult to say what we mean and mean what we say?
I think it is because sometimes, maybe even most times, we say things almost without being aware of it. Words, thoughts, opinions just spew out of our mouths--and we're not even listening oursevles!
So, of course, if WE are not even listening to some of the tings we are saying, how can we keep our words when we don't even know what we've said?
