At least 23 people were killed and 100 wounded Monday in a suicide blast at Russia's busiest airport, Domodedovo, Russia's state-run news agency reported.

Unofficial sources said that the explosion occured at the international arrivals hall at Domodedovo, while other reports said the blast happened in the baggage check-in area.

A spokeswoman for the investigative committee of the federal prosecutor's office earlier put the number of casualties at about 20, citing preliminary information, and said the cause of the blast was unknown.

Moscow suffered its worst attack in six years in March 2010 when two female suicide bombers from Russia's volatile Dagestan region set off explosives in the metro, killing 40 peopl,,i will up date you as the news comes in !!

Wow! That's really shocking. I can't understand this and it baffles me to pieces at why people would strap bombs to themselves particularly women who are suppose to be thinking of their children. What a sad state the world is in. God help us all!

UP DATE ; A spokeswoman for Moscow's busiest airport says 35 people have been killed by an explosion in its international arrivals hall.

Domodedovo Airport spokeswoman Yelena Galanova made the statement Monday on Russia's NTV television.

Other officials put the death toll at 31 and said about 130 people were injured in the explosion Monday afternoon. President Dmitry Medvedev said it looked like a terror attack and the state RIA Novosti news agency said the blast may have been set off by a suicide bomber.
