what in today's time do women need specifically from men

ooohhhh, i'm very excited to hear what a man's point of view on this subject. my SO and I have struggled with this issue for a year(which is just how long we have been together) I am hoping to hear constructive ideas that can bring the two together in a common path toward a common goal. No gender bashing, I hope.
