ANDERSON COOPER DECIDE TO LEAVE EGYPT

Anderson Cooper has decided to leave Egypt. NBC and CBS anchors Brian Williams and Katie Couric left the country on Thursday, and it appears as if Saturday Cooper had opted to follow suit.

According to a report from Popeater, Cooper issued the following statement on Saturday.

"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Egypt. CNN continues to have many teams in place. It was a hard decision to leave," he wrote.

Anderson Cooper was attacked in Cairo several days ago and was punched approximately ten times in the head. He said there was "no rhyme or reason" to the violent attack. The violence has escalated severely since protesters took to the streets demanding that Egyptian President Mubarak and his regime resign.

Anderson Cooper has always been the kind of reporter to stick things out and finish the jobs he sets out to do. It had to be a very difficult decision--one that came under the stress of escalating violence, to make him decide to leave the country.

It's likely a very good thing, however, that Cooper, along with Brian Williams and Katie Couric, have fled Egypt.

I'm so happy that he's leaving because he shouldn't have gone there in the first place.

It seems like it's only a matter of time before the situation in Cairo turns even deadlier.
