Latest updates reveal that more than 100 doctors, nurses and others in the medical professions in 9 cities are possible suspects in fraud of using medicare. Over 700 law enforment agents arrested dozens of people who were accused of billing Medicare more $225 million dollars in fraudent charges. These major busts have been part of a 2 year operation to catch those abusing the filing costs to Medicare for procedures or medical visits that actually never took place. The latest indictments were medical personnel from cities such as Miami, Houston, Detroit, Chicago, Brookly, Tampa, Florida and Baton Rouge, La. Special Fed agent John Gillies was quoted as saying: "We can arrest and charge people every day and it still won't make a dent until changes are made to Medicare."
