Watch Rachel Maddow dissect the core of this issue and the reason it is so crucial for the 2012 election. The single greatest source of support for Democrats has been the Unions. If Republicans are successful in breaking the Unions, the Democrats will be left with no major organizational support.

Sadly, the people that voted for Walker were blindsided.

Richard Kigel Saturday, February 19th 2011 at 9:37AM

True.

He won with 52% of the vote--and now, according to the recent oll, 52% disapprove of how he is handling this issue.

It's only going to get worse.

I see this scenario playing out in state after state as workers lose their long standing and well established rights to unionize and bargain collectively. It is a massive disrespect to working people!!!

i WAS SO GLAD THAT Rachel even talked about ACORN...but Rich, you know the beauty of all of what is going on in our country...is it seem like a light blub has gone off in our minds about what is actually going on in our country thanks to our voting habits of voting for the loudest, most often heard on tv political ad as the only qualification to represent us and all at our own expense as in suffering elections after elections of the same old people right back to do the same exact nothing for usin our interest j-o-b....(nup)...(smile)

@Dorothy, 'blindsided' is what anothr excuse for not voting responsiably? and, "I" say this because the person who became governor of this state did not just appear out of thin air to bet into the office...he has some reason for running and he had a theme and a puropse for winning. Or what member of theReoublican party works for main streeta nd not for wall street?

And, I only say this because the Republicans run on a political base of Christian, family values and strap on that ak 47. theyhave done this for years and years and years...(nup)
