Jennifer Hudson has truly traveled the distance of a lifetime in 29 years. From the Chicago churches that nurtured her budding talent, to Hollywood stages, where she picked up award after award culminating in Oscar triumph for “Dreamgirls,” Hudson has gone far beyond what she probably even dreamed.
The most famous singer to be an “American Idol” also-ran, Hudson didn’t let that defeat stop her. And when her family was tragically and horribly murdered right before the holidays, Hudson disappeared from view only to return better than ever.
