King Harbor is used to boats and tackles and the normal way of taking off to go fishing but on Monday, March 07, 2011 they were in shock to find dead fish popping up from the waters around the harbor. Hundreds to millions of fish were seen deceased among the boats and surrounding harbor's area. No one understands why the fish were undergoing the death trauma but marine biologists and scientists took fish from the marina to evaluate samples for the cause of deaths. Findings stated there were no evidence of toxins and it was determined deaths may have been caused by oxygen depletion because of so many fish.
Since then the clean ups have started to clear the almost never-ending plenty of endless floats of fish bodies. The smell was reported strongly intense death of fish. There were many varieties of breeds but most were sardines. Clean us is estimated to run into $100,000 or more . So far 50 tons of the dead fish have been retreived by clean up crews.
